Overview
Issuance of Rabbit Licences to residents of New Brunswick.
Eligibility
Must be a resident as defined in the Fish and Wildlife Act and must not be restricted from purchasing a New Brunswick Rabbit Licence.
A Rabbit Licence is issued to a resident sixteen years of age or over. A Minor Rabbit Licence is issued to a resident 10 to 15 years of age.
Hunter Education Requirements:
• Hunters born on or after January 1, 1981 and all first-time hunters must show proof of a Firearm Safety / Hunter Education Course.
• Hunters born previous to 1981 may present a previous hunting licence as proof of hunting experience.
• Conservation Education certificates from other provinces, territories and states are valid in New Brunswick.
• Trapper education is not required to obtain a Rabbit Licence.
Minor Rabbit licence holders are not permitted to carry a firearm unless they are 12-15 years of age, have passed the Firearms Safety/Hunter Education course and are accompanied by a person 19 years of age or older.
Description
A Rabbit Licence entitles the holder to hunt or snare rabbits during the open season for rabbit (varying hare) in New Brunswick.
