Overview
Elevating device inspections ensure that elevating devices meet regulated codes and standards of installation and operation.
Eligibility
Elevating device inspections apply to all elevating devices other than wharf ramps, private residence elevators and private residence incline lifts.
Description
All new or altered elevating devices must be inspected before going into service. In-service inspections are then carried out periodically by the Inspection Services branch of the Department.
