Overview

Video Lottery Siteholder Registrations are required by businesses that have been approved by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation to participate in the video lottery program.

Eligibility

Only businesses who hold a valid liquor licence under the Liquor Control Act and have been advised by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation that they are approved for video lottery devices are eligible to register as a siteholder.

The application form will have to be accompanied with the fees required under the regulation and a letter from the Atlantic Lottery Corporation confirming the number of video lottery devices that is intended for that premises.

The Gaming Control Act requires that the Registrar look into the honesty and integrity, past conduct, financial history and competence of the applicant. The video lottery siteholder registration application and personal disclosure forms will require specific information.

Description

Applicants must submit application forms and forward the appropriate fees.

Individuals interested in becoming a new video lottery siteholder should contact the Atlantic Lottery Corporation.

There are three categories of sites:

• Category 1 Site (15-25 video lottery devices)
• Category 2 Site (11-14 video lottery devices)
• Category 3 Site (1-10 video lottery devices)

If you are successful in your application, you will receive a video lottery siteholder certificate of registration.

If you are not successful with your application, a letter will be sent to you explaining that you did not qualify. If you wish to appeal the denial, you will be required to serve a written request to the Registrar and the Minister within 15 days.

If you currently have video lottery devices and your registration is denied, you will be advised in writing of the reason for the denial and will also be advised of your entitlement under the appeal process. Should you not appeal the denial or fail in the appeal process, the Gaming, Liquor and Security Licensing Branch will notify the Atlantic Lottery Corporation and they will turn off and remove the devices.

Registration certificates are not transferable.
