Overview

Driving re-education courses are required for anyone who has had their licence suspended because of impaired driving.

Anyone who has had their licence suspended for impaired driving.

Description

The Registrar of Motor Vehicles shall not reinstate the driving privilege of a resident of the Province whose driving privilege has been suspended under the Motor Vehicle Act as a result of a conviction for an impaired driving-related offence until the resident has successfully completed, and paid the fee prescribed by regulation for, the impaired driver re-education course approved by the Minister of Health and assigned to the resident by the Registrar.

There are two (2) courses available depending on the violation:

1. For a person who has one (1) conviction for an offence in a 10-year period.

2. For a person who has two (2) or more suspensions for an offence in a 10-year period
