FREDERICTON (GNB) – An inmate in the custody of the provincial correctional system has died.
Wesley Robert Geneau, 40, an inmate at the Madawaska Regional Correctional Centre, was found unresponsive on Sunday morning. Staff administered first aid and he was transported to the Edmundston Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The man was serving a sentence in custody.
This information is being released in accordance with the department's policy.
Neither foul play nor self-harm are suspected.
As per policy, local police and Coroner Services have been advised.
