Overview

NB public libraries lend free carbon dioxide (CO2) monitors to help you assess the indoor air quality of your home or business.

Eligibility

CO2 monitors can be borrowed for free by any New Brunswicker with a valid public library card.

Description

If you are curious or concerned about the indoor air quality of your home or business, you can borrow a carbon dioxide monitor to test the efficiency of your ventilation. While CO2 gas is rarely deadly, the buildup of CO2 indoors can lead to fatigue, a lack of productivity and flu-like symptoms. CO2 monitors are not life-saving devices, but they can help you determine if the indoor air quality of your building is at an acceptable level.

The monitors can be borrowed for one (1) week at a time. Due to their fragile nature, the monitors cannot be mailed. They must therefore be picked up from and returned to your local library.

If you have borrowed a CO2 monitor and would like to share your feedback, please fill out the online survey on the Community Access to Ventilation Information (CAVI) website: https://www.cavico2.com/co2-monitor-loan-patron-survey.
